Weekend Well Spent.

Working. I worked all weekend again. I really need to invest time in my social life.. haha. Seriously. The past 8 months have been non stop. This weekend I didn't get to go antiquing which was disappointing, I really need to look for a dresses for upcoming formal events I will be attending in the near future. I was stuck working in the garage on ear cuffs. Yep. I hand make these babies, unlike others you will see. I get to use a drill any everything (with the help from my lovely bf) ! My Father would be proud. Ha

My goal was to finish all 900 but I nearly made it to 300 all together. I'm defiantly going to need as many as I could make for this weekends event.

I've also updated the shop with two new pieces. Slowing adding the new Fall 2012 Line to Etsy. Hopefully by the middle of September everything should be added. I'm so excited for this weekend, but I'm also excited about it ending. So much prep goes into this show it's exhausting and very rewarding.
I can't wait to also shop my friends Melissa's line Loschy Designs. She is one of the most creative people I know her jewelry is amazing. You should check her out.

Fall Color Pallet

Up early answering emails, printing out shipping labels, filling orders, and finishing up the new packaging. It seems like my days just kind of blend right into one another. I'm not crazy about that, but it's what needs to get done. This week is going to go by fast, I just know it. I'm pretty excited about Labor Day weekend at OISF. So many decisions are going to be made after that event, It's pretty scary and exciting. The possibility of hiring my first employee to handle most of the business and getting me new accounts. Most people are not aware that Etsy is just a small part of my business and have other accounts all over the world, and I'm constantly filing orders for those accounts on top of staying relevant on Etsy. The work load has gotten bigger then me. When I first started in 07 I never dreamed that It would be where the business is today and I'm so grateful for all that I have and extremely grateful to continue to do this. If you know anything about me you know that I have never had it easy, and getting here was not easy and it's still isn't easy. I won't get into how I grew up and all it's tragedies, but I will say this, it doesn't matter where you grew up or how you grew up... you have the power to shape yourself into whoever you want to be.

Woah, I rambled.. I wanted to blog about color pallets..haha, since I am in love with Design Seeds.
So... just skip all that. Ha

When I start to design pieces in my head or sleep, which happens a lot. I'm always thinking of colors and what I think would mesh well together as well as sticking to a color pallet I personally love and would wear. I put together a little post with some of my color inspiration for my new line. Enjoy.

Fall 2012 Collection

My inspiration for this little collection is all things rustic, tarnish, vintage when it came to color, materials,texture and as well has my love for Egyptian Gods, magic, symbols art, and jewelry. I spend a lot of time doing research online, books, and visiting museums when it comes to designing my pieces. Most of you know I went to view Cleopatra the Exhibition in L.A and It was one of the most fascinating exhibitions I've been to in a while. If you're in the L.A area I suggest you check it out.
I'll be updating the shop in the next couple of weeks as well. I've been so busy with the next event I haven't had time to make all my sketches into actual jewelry as well as photograph the rest of the pieces! So be on the look out for that.

Back On Blogger

I've decided to come back to blogger because I wanted more intimate platform to blog about my daily updates with By Francis Frank and all the behind the scene action that goes with it.. SO much action! Ha.. It's really just me working 7am-? in my pjs trying to make a name for myself in this ever growing industry and so far so good. :D

 This year I'll be back at the Orange International Street Fair with one of my favorite Jewelry Designers and favorite people Melissa Loschy aka Loschy Designs. Last year was my first year participating in the street fair and it was insane! Not only did we both sell out that night but we had to create pieces on the spot. It's a three day event and I'm so looking forward to participating again!
