Big City Big Dreams..

Getting ready to ship out my sample box to Nordstrums is seriously the most amazing and frightful thing I could possibly do. When people ask me, "how did you get started in fancyThat.?" "Are you a fashion student?"...i always laugh and say..no. I'm a music business major and actress.And their response is...hmm,interesting.HA. All of this kind of just fell in my lap. In 07 i started making my own hair accessories for myself..and people just started asking me to make custom pieces for them, and I was like sure. Bada Bing Bada Boom. Just kidding there was more then that..ha.

While all of this craziness is going on with fancyThat. I still have my music business career which will always come first. Business is Business and being able to make money in this economy in my eyes is much a success. I worked really hard to put myself through school and learning the skills to market myself as a whole comes in handy. I'm so proud of my work and all that I have accomplished and knowing I stayed true to myself and all of my organic thoughts and creativity,which is more I can say for most.. ouch.

This has been a busy month,traveling here to there..selling up a storm. Making a name for myself not only in California but other states as well. I'm so lucky to have something like this keep me on my toes..especially with the way of the economy is going, I truly want to thank everyone who has purchased items over that past year. It's been a while since I've updated this thing...things have just taken off. I've been completely swamped with halloween orders! F.Y.I Halloween= Glitter Galore. I have seriously never used that much glitter in my life...especially when you're on the go. I have to be mobile for the next couple of months.. from NY,Vegas, to Sacramento..I'm so excited!! But no worries I'll be back and selling at my local spots here in L.A as soon as all this exciting chaos cools down. :p

On another note...There's nothing like feeling great when you know you've been apart of someone's special day...<3

inspiration: where the wild things are.

Inspired by just about everything around me..I really wanted to make hair accessories and handmade jewelry (coming soon) that reflected our latest pop culture lives.

As a child Where the wild things are written by Maurice Sendak sacred the heck out of me. At a young age i was afraid of getting in trouble and being sent to my room without supper like Max in the story. I have a wild imagination, as you could imagine. Anyway..back to fancyThat.. I'm really dign' these new accessories. I'm loving the fur like feather with the rustic colors and the outside feel of being one with nature. So far my consumers would agree. As soon as I post these pieces they're sold within minutes.

I love the feeling of know what people want and what they love.

When i feel something..I run with it.

El Día de los Muertos or All Souls' Day

This is a custom piece i finished today for my dear friend Andi. I'm so in love with the texture of the red velvet roses and the suede green leafs. I tried to make it exactly how she wanted it... and i think I pretty much executed it as best as i could.

I'm pretty happy with it, and so is she. <3

This is seriously my favorite time of year...the weather is changing and the air seems fresh. I'm so excited to get to work on all my other orders and I'm really happy that I'm getting a lot of business. With the economy in a decline and people unemployed, I'm glad I get to offer affordable hair accessories to gals who love to be different and add a little flair to there everyday life. Also.. CHRISTMAS is just around the corner, and you know fancyThat would be a great gift. ;D

Downtown was lovely today, one thing i love about this city is getting caught at a traffic light only to see the green hornet being filmed. (loveeee seth rogen) Although at times I'd rather be in NY, and I'm reminded at times that I am truly lucky to live in L.A. It's all about networking with people and the connections you make. I'm so lucky to made those kind of connections with the vendors I have met in L.A. Without them i would not be in business. I am very thankful for all of the discounts I am given when I visit there stores, I am a very loyal person.

Anyhoot..on a creative note...I've posted new and bright feather hair accessories up on myspace. I am seriously falling for fall. Fall is going to be bold,bright colors, big statement. I just hope this weather would chill out... seriously. Wayyy too hot. Well, I'll leave you with this..

Today I''m going to my secret location to buy more material and get down to business working on new designs and revamping my line. Leather seems to keep popping up in my thoughts...so, lea-Tha is what i'll be experimenting with. I won't go into full detail in what I plan on con-cocking with, but It's going to be major. All leather comes from %100 recyclable materials. I try to keep it as "green" as possible. Also, I'll be launching my official fancyThat site soon, I've just been so busy managing every other social networking site I'm on...it gets a little hectic. Another thing... thank you to all of those gals who keep sending me messages about wanting to be apart of fancyThat team. Although I would like some extra help...I like to work alone. Sorry.. :P Maybe in the future, but as for now, I simply cannot.But I am flattered that so many people took a interest in my company. Off to L.A.

So last night was uh-maz-ing. Had a great turn out! Got to meet a lot of new customers and well as catch up with up my regulars. Now, that this is over... i am completely swapped with orders and well as re-filling my inventory. I would have to say the items of the night were definitely my crochet beanies. At the end of the night all 13 were gone! Major shocker. I'm also happy to report fancyThat will officially be at Mi Vida Boutique in South Pasadena.I'm so excited to add another boutique to my ever growing list. I feel truly blessed. So, i'll end with this...Thanks to all my fancyCostumers who came out last night and supported me.

Today is today and tomorrow is tomorrow..

Finally finished all of my order and shipped them all out! My finger and toe are in much better shape, thanks for asking. :D

Only to come back home and see i have 6 new messages from myspace asking if i could make custom headbands for halloween..haha.I LOVE IT! I guess everyone is going to be a flapper,hippie,or a indian. Which is really cute. But don't worry each hair accessory will be different and unique in it's own way. That's just how I do it. :p

from the neck Up..

Today is the day i started getting for the Mi Vida Boutique event this saturday. I set out all of my pieces and placed them on their board a color coordinating order, of course. I'm really excited for this weekend and i'm hoping for success. I had a couple of orders due as well...but everything came to a halt! UH...can you say hot glue gun burn?! I burned the inside of my right middle finger and my toe...?how, i don't even know. My finger and toe have been in ice for almost two hours and it is still on fire.So..i can't function at the moment. AWESOME. Well.. until then.
